Not Chugging Beer at the Beach

This week is Spring Break, and today I'll finish grading a set of essays, and then later this week, I'll do my taxes. But at least I'm not at work for a week.

So you will be warm, sober (maybe), and able to blog and comment a little more?

On another note, I will be joining the ranks of adjunct professors. I will teach a fall class at local university. I am excited about the opportunity.

I will be warm, sober (I will likely enjoy a glass or two of wine), and perhaps will catch up on recreational reading. I will blog as I can, but the real heavy duty blogging will not commence again until the end of April. (Are you chiding me on my lack of blogging, Mister-Blog-maybe-one-paragraph-every-other week?) ;-)

So you're gonna be a professor! What will you teach? I hope you'll be at a place where adjuncts are valued for their knowledge and aren't just warm bodies filling a vacant spot.

No, I was not chiding you--this time. I just miss your posts and comments when they are less frequent. My blogging has definitely suffered lately, for many reasons: work load, personal responsbilities, and just plain uninspired. One problem is I work on the computer all day. So I just don't want to get on it at night, I am done by then. I think and write better in the morning, but my new position at work requires me to be in earlier, infringing on my writing time. I don't really feel like getting up any earlier than my normal 5-5:30a so less writing time.

I will be teaching Engineering Design Process (or something like that). I think the adjuncts are valued for their knowledge. I will let you know.

Can you be called Professor if you don't have a doctorate?

My department calls me Professor, even though technically I am not. My official title is Full Time Temporary. What noun should follow that, none of us are sure.

I'm sure you'll enjoy teaching. Your students will probably be a little more mature than mine!

I miss your posts as well. I actually got around to commenting on your previous post, but my browser window wasn't updated, so I didn't see that you had added a new one this morning. So my comment is at the end of the old conversation.

I hope you enjoy your break. That brings back memories ... we had some wild times during spring break from the madrassa.

Indeed we do, JMG. But sadly my "Pugs Gone Wild" spring break videos were not a success. I suppose they were ahead of their time.
