Savings and Loans

Remember the $10 I saved by dropping the text and picture messaging from my cell phone plan? I got a letter last week saying that the state's matching 401k contribution for state employees is being increased from $20 to $30. What a cool "coincidence"!

In other money news, I just returned from the bank where I made the final payment on the Kenworth. Debt reduction just shifted into high gear!

Do you feel freer? I always do when I unload debt or give up some material possession.

We got the title to our car last week--it's paid off--and it's a good feeling. Your post on "thriftiness" really changed me--I think about ways to save here and there much more often now!

I posted a comment here, but I don't know where it went.

It did feel good to pay off the truck. Now we can use the money that would have gone to payments to pay off other stuff.
